The Baner Khad is a tributary of Beas river . It drains the middle part of Kangra Valley. The Baner river rises from Southern slopes of Dhauladhar range near Palampur. It flows towards South -West direction.

It flows from Southern slopes of Dhauladhar range through Dharamshala, Dari, Bhim -Tela, on the right side of Kangra fort. Ban-Ganga flowing near Dr. Rajendra Prasad Medical College & Hospital Tanda also joins Baner downwards kangra fort.
Baner Hydel power plant is also built on the left bank of Baner river in district Kangra.

The river after Kangra fort passes through Rani -Talab, Nandrool, Koparlahar, Dhundni Mata temple and Hanuman Mandir Bathu - Ghati . The Bthu -Khad also joins Baner Khad at this place. Then it flows near Ranital, Rajaur and finally merges in Pong wetlands in Beas river down - stream of Haripur Guler in district Kangra.
