The Awa -Khad provides waters to river Beas in district Kangra Himachal Pradesh. It rises from the Southern slopes of Dhauladhar near Palampur. The Khad carries perennial snow melt as well as seasonal runoff from its catchment area.

The Khad flows near Bakota and Kulani where it has a small hydro-electric power plant named Kulani Hydro power project.
Then the khad flows between Lahnga and Gaihr, between Chanpur and Rachhiara then between Jhalreha and Dharmantaran. Further it flows near Matehr and between Lamlehr and Nagata , near Bhuana and Rajot .

Then Awa -Khad joins Binwa river which in turn flows into Beas. It joins Binwa river between Machhoi and Dukhi hills in district kangra.
