The Harla River, The Tributary of Beas in district Kullu in Himachal Pradesh. "

 Harla river is a tributary of Beas, which rises from the depression  of North- Western part of Kullu Valley. It is a perennial river fed by snow melt waters from the snow in this depression.

The river flows through a narrow V-shape valley, numbers of small channels of runoff joins it in its course.

The Suketi River, " The Tributary of river Beas in district Mandi Himachal Pradesh. "

 The Suketi river is a tributary of Beas in district Mandi Himachal Pradesh. It rises from the hills of Suket now the new name of which is Sundernagar tehsil at an altitude of about 2890 metres from mean sea level in Southern part of its basin and confluence with Beas river at an altitude of 760 metres from mean sea level in its Northern part in middle of Mandi Town.

The river Suketi joins Beas just upstream of  Victoria Bridge in Mandi town, the Victoria Bridge was built up by the king of Mandi Raja Vijay Singh Sen during 1877 with the help of Britishers .

The major tributaries of Suketi river are Kansa Khad, Chail Khad, Ghangli Khad, Ratti Khad and Dedour Khad which drain water in Suketi river. 

The Suketi river is a perennial river which is fed by snow as well w rain from its catchment area.

The river has accumulated huge sediments Balh Valley. Balh Valley in district Mandi is very fertile and is very beautiful. It is called Mini Punjab.

The Chakki River, " The Tributary of Beas, draining South -Western part of Himachal Pradesh. "

 The Chakki river is a tributary of Beas rising from Southern slopes of Dhauladhar range and joins Beas river near Mirthal in Punjab. The river carries both snow melt waters and rain fed waters of South -western part of Himachal Pradesh.

The Chakki river enters Punjab near Jasoor between Nurpur and Pathankot. The river has deposited huge sediments along banks in its course which are now under cultivation.

Jal -Shakti Department of Himachal Pradesh has undertaken a medium irrigation project on Chakki river to irrigate 4000 hectare of land under Nurpur Subdivision. The project is named, " Phinna Singh Medium Irrigation Project. " Under this project a Dam is under construction accross Chakki river and water will be diverted through a 4.3 Km long tunnel , the work of tunnel is complete and the dam is proposed to be completed till December 2021.

The work of distribution channels is in progress and the department has fixed  a target to give irrigation facility to some of the area. The initial cost of the project was 207 crore but the revised proposal for Rs 400 crores has been sent to Government of India for sanction. The project is likely to be completed in the year 2022. The name of dam is Phinna Singh Dam. The diversion of this water may affect the Dhar block in the down stream.

Gaj - River , " The Tributary of Beas, Flows in district Kangra, Himachal Pradesh. "

 The Gaj river also named as Gaj -Khad is a tributary of Beas which rises from the southern slopes of Dhauladhar range of Himalayas and joins Beas just upstream of Pong Dam in Pong wetlands.

The small perennial khads, Channi - Khad flowing through Bagga, parala , Rava areas and Daramkot water fall, Bleni Nalla and other small stream rising from southern slopes of Dhauladhar range form Gaj -Khad.

District kangra has numbers of tea gardens which having beautiful landscapes. The Kangra tea is famous for its quality. It also has numbers of famous temples like Jawala ji shakti peeth, Chamunda Mata temple ,Brjeshwsri temple kangra and ancient Lord Shiva temple at Baijnath,visitors from all over India visit these ancient temples.

The River Baan-Ganga, " The Tributary of Beas river , rising from Southern slopes of Dhauladhar range in district Kangra Himachal Pradesh. "

 The river Baan-Ganga is tributary of river Beas, it rises from southern slopes of Dhauladhar range of Himalayas and joins Baner river downwards of Kangra fort and Rani ka Talab near Maira,Nandrool from Jatehr side which in turn flows into Beas in Kangra valley.

The Baan- Ganga flows  near by pass road to Kangra town on the hill foot of shri Brjeshwsri temple and near to Dr. Rajendra Prasaad Medical college Tanda.

International Day of Forests, " The March 21 st is celebrated as International Day of Forests. "

 The International day of forests is celebrated on March 21st every year. On November 28 th General Assembly of United States passed a resolution to celebrate March 21 st as International day of Forests.

The purpose of this resolution was to create general awareness among people about benefits and importance of forests world wide.  The March 21 st was chosen the International day of forests.

The Awa Khad, " The Tributary of Beas river rising from Dhauladhar range near Palampur district Kangra, Himachal Pradesh. "

 The Awa -Khad provides waters to river Beas in district Kangra Himachal Pradesh. It rises from the Southern slopes of Dhauladhar near Palampur. The Khad carries perennial snow melt as well as seasonal runoff from its catchment area.

The Khad flows near Bakota and Kulani where it has a small hydro-electric power plant named Kulani Hydro power project. 

Then the khad flows between Lahnga and Gaihr, between Chanpur and Rachhiara  then between Jhalreha and Dharmantaran. Further  it flows near Matehr  and between Lamlehr and Nagata  , near Bhuana and Rajot .

Then Awa -Khad joins Binwa river which in turn flows into Beas. It joins Binwa river between Machhoi and Dukhi hills in district kangra.

The Baner Khad, The Tributary of Beas River in District Kangra Himachal Pradesh. "

 The Baner Khad is a tributary of Beas river . It drains the middle part of Kangra Valley. The Baner river rises from Southern slopes of Dhauladhar range near Palampur. It flows towards South -West direction.

It flows from Southern slopes of Dhauladhar range through Dharamshala, Dari, Bhim -Tela, on the right side of Kangra fort. Ban-Ganga flowing near Dr. Rajendra Prasad Medical College & Hospital Tanda also joins Baner downwards  kangra fort.  

Baner Hydel power plant is also built on the left bank of Baner river in district Kangra.

The river after Kangra fort passes through Rani -Talab, Nandrool, Koparlahar, Dhundni Mata temple and Hanuman Mandir Bathu - Ghati  . The Bthu -Khad also joins Baner Khad at this place. Then it flows near Ranital, Rajaur and finally merges in Pong wetlands in Beas river down - stream of Haripur Guler in district  Kangra.

The NEUGAL KHAD, " Tributary of Beas river , Joins from North in district Kangra Himachal Pradesh. "

 The Kangra Valley is a very beautiful valley between Dhauladhar range in the North and Shivalik hills in the South The Dhauladhar range has snow clad mountains feeding the perennial tributaries of Beas river. The Neugal Khad is the tributary of Beas originating from Dhauladhar range from North and Joins in district Kangra Himachal Pradesh.

The Neugal khad has a beautiful picnic spot about 3 to 4 Km from Palampur. Visitors used to enjoy the panoramic views of  valley from this spot.

Neugal Park is a centre of attractions for tourists.  The department of Agriculture Himachal Pradesh has established a  big nursery of Tea plants on the left bank of Neugal khad at Diberpat at Palampur.
