The Tirthan River, "The Tributary of Beas, Rising From The South- East of Kullu From The Base Of Great Himalayan Range, In Himachal Pradesh. "

 Tirthan is also a very beautiful valley with tremendous nature all around. The Tirthan river flows through this valley. It is the Tributary of Beas river rising from the base of an offshoot of the great Himalayan range in the South - East of Kullu.

Then it flows in South - West direction and confluence with Beas at Larji. The numbers of small streams joins the Tirthan in its course, which are snow fed and are perennial.

In the upper course of Tirthan river it flows in a V - Shape valley and spreads in reaches near confluence with Beas at Larji.

The Uhal River, "The Tributary of Beas , Rising From North Of Dhauladhar Range,Flowing Through Kangra District & Joins Beas Near Mandi Town,Himachal Pradesh.""

 The river Uhal is a tributary of of Beas, it rises from the Thamsar glacier , the two feeder streams to the North of  Dhauladhar range in  Himachal Pradesh after crossing the mountains merge at the base southern slopes form the river Uhal in district Kangra.

The Uhal then flows along the base of Dhauladhar range, there after flowing towards South -East merges in Beas between Mandi and Pandoh.

The river flows  through Chohar Valley and Barot and then merges in Beas. The Barot valley is also famous for its scenic beauty.

The Barot village was developed during 1920 for establishing Shanan hydel power project, which is a centre of attraction for tourism. The road to Barot bifurcates from Ghatashni on Mandi Pathankot National Highway. The Barot is about 40 Km from Jogindernagar and 65 Km from Mandi. 

Government of Himachal Pradesh Department of Fisheries has established a Trout fishing breeding  farm at Barot.The Trout fish seed is released into Uhal river from Trout hatchery. About 3o Km portion of Uhal is used for angling. The valley has immense natural beauty, nature lovers used to visit Barot valley.

The Sainj River, " The Tributary of Beas Rising From Lower Ranges of main Himalayas to East of Kullu in Himachal Pradesh. "

 The river Sainj rises from the lower ranges of main Himalayas to the East of Kullu and flows past a series of interlocking spurs , then spreads as it flows South-west and joins Beas at village Larji. The confluence of Beas, Tirthan and Sainj rivers is at Larji in district Kullu.

The Sainj  is a V-shaped  valley in the lower ranges of main Himalayas in district kullu. It is a very beautiful valley with panoramic views.

The Sainj valley is a wildlife Sanctuary encompasses Shakti and Maror villages. The village Maror and village Shakti are out side of the boundaries of Great Himalayan National Park.

The scenic beauty of Sainj Valley is very much panoramic, Visitors from various parts of the country as well as abroad used to enjoy the nature here. Forest Rest House Ropa is located on the bank of Sainj River, the nature here is very beautiful. The Forest rest house  Shangharh is located in the Sainj Valley where visitors used to stay.

The Parvati River, The Tributary of Beas Rising from Main Himalayan range in district Kullu upstream of Manikaran, Himachal Pradesh. "

 Parvati river is the tributary of Beas in district Kullu. It rises from the foot hills of main Himalayan range in district kullu, upstream of Manikaran , which is famous for its hot water springs.  Lacs of pilgrims used to visit this place every year. Parvati valley is a very beautiful valley where nature is spread by God with both hands.

The river drains  the waters of glaciers from the foothills of main Himalayan range of district Kullu upstream of Manikaran and flows through Kasol and Manikaran and confluence with Beas at Shamshi in district kullu.

The Patlikuhal River, " The Tributary of Beas river in Manali Area of Kullu district, Himachal Pradesh. "

 The Patlikuhal river originates from the Southern slopes of Pir- Panjal range and confluence with Beas upstream of Kullu.

The Patlikuhal river is a perennial river fed with snow melt waters from snow covered Pir-Panjal peaks.

Patlikuhal village is a small village about 22 km in the North of Kullu district headquarters. It is famous for fishing.

The Festival of Colours, "The Holi also known as 'The Festival of Spring ' and 'The Festival of Love ' . "

 The Holi is an Indian Hindu festival which is presently celebrated in India, Nepal and also in many countries of the world even in Europe and America. The Jainis , Sikhs and Buddhist also celebrate this festival. This festival is celebrated on full Moon day (Purnima)of Phalgun month as per Hindu calendar which usually comes in the month of March. The festival of colours is celebrated on the next day of Holika dehan.

The festival is very much famous in Braj from very ancient times when Lord Krishna celebrated this festival of colours with Radha and other Gopies. It was very beautiful and loving is still remembered.

In America and Europe it is celebrated as spring Festival. In every state of India it is celebrated with great pump and show.

In Himachal Pradesh The State level function of Holi is celebrated at Sujanpur Tihra. This year the festivals are not being  celebrated due to impact of Covid -19 pandemic world wide.

The Harla River, The Tributary of Beas in district Kullu in Himachal Pradesh. "

 Harla river is a tributary of Beas, which rises from the depression  of North- Western part of Kullu Valley. It is a perennial river fed by snow melt waters from the snow in this depression.

The Suketi River, " The Tributary of river Beas in district Mandi Himachal Pradesh. "

 The Suketi river is a tributary of Beas in district Mandi Himachal Pradesh. It rises from the hills of Suket now the new name of which is Sundernagar tehsil at an altitude of about 2890 metres from mean sea level in Southern part of its basin and confluence with Beas river at an altitude of 760 metres from mean sea level in its Northern part in middle of Mandi Town.

The river Suketi joins Beas just upstream of  Victoria Bridge in Mandi town, the Victoria Bridge was built up by the king of Mandi Raja Vijay Singh Sen during 1877 with the help of Britishers .

The major tributaries of Suketi river are Kansa Khad, Chail Khad, Ghangli Khad, Ratti Khad and Dedour Khad which drain water in Suketi river. 

The Suketi river is a perennial river which is fed by snow as well w rain from its catchment area.

The Chakki River, " The Tributary of Beas, draining South -Western part of Himachal Pradesh. "

 The Chakki river is a tributary of Beas rising from Southern slopes of Dhauladhar range and joins Beas river near Mirthal in Punjab. The river carries both snow melt waters and rain fed waters of South -western part of Himachal Pradesh.

The Chakki river enters Punjab near Jasoor between Nurpur and Pathankot. The river has deposited huge sediments along banks in its course which are now under cultivation.

Jal -Shakti Department of Himachal Pradesh has undertaken a medium irrigation project on Chakki river to irrigate 4000 hectare of land under Nurpur Subdivision. The project is named, " Phinna Singh Medium Irrigation Project. " Under this project a Dam is under construction accross Chakki river and water will be diverted through a 4.3 Km long tunnel , the work of tunnel is complete and the dam is proposed to be completed till December 2021.

The work of distribution channels is in progress and the department has fixed  a target to give irrigation facility to some of the area. The initial cost of the project was 207 crore but the revised proposal for Rs 400 crores has been sent to Government of India for sanction. The project is likely to be completed in the year 2022. The name of dam is Phinna Singh Dam. The diversion of this water may affect the Dhar block in the down stream.
