Hikkim & Komic Villages ," The attractions in Spiti valley in Himachal Pradesh ."

 Tourists Attractions In Wonder Land Of Spiti -Himachal Pradesh :- 




The Himachal Pradesh is a beautiful state of India in North India in the lap of Himalayas . The landscapes of Himachal Pradesh have many panoramic views and are on the world map from tourism point of view .


The Lahaul - Spiti is a cold desert having pleasurable climates in summer and is famous for its panoramic landscapes .


Kaza is the administrative headquarters of Spiti region from where tourists can visit the near by places of tourist importance . 


              Hikkim Village 

Hikkim is a village about 15 km from Kaza located at an elevation of 4587 metres above mean sea level and is famous for highest post office in the world , which is established here in year 1983 by the government thus connecting this beautiful village with the world .


The tourists all over the world enjoy the beauty of this village and used to post the cards to their relatives from world's highest post office .


The distance between Hikkim village to  Komic is about 3Km and a Bodh Monastery is located at this place . The tourists used to enjoy landscapes both these places simultaneously .

Langza Village in Spiti valley

 The Village Langza in Spiti :- 

The Village Langza is a small beautiful village in Spiti valley which is famous for its panoramic landscapes .  





The Village Langza is situated at a distance of about 16 Km from Kaza the administrative headquarters of Spiti region  of district Lahaul - Spiti in Himachal Pradesh . 






The Village Langza is situated at an elevation of 4420 metres above mean sea level and is connected with road facilities .




It is a  cultivated land and the main crops of the village is Potatoes , barley and sweet peas .



The Village Langza is also famous for Budha 's 35 feet high statue . Tourists from India and abroad used to visit this cold desert . In summer it is quite pleasant to visit Lahaul and Spiti valleys .









The Spiti valley is accessible from Shimla via Kinnaur as well as from Kullu -Manali side . The distance between Kaza to Shimla is about 430 Km through NH 505 and NH 3 and distance between Manali to Kaza is about 183 Km through NH 505 


The other beautiful villages near Kaza are  Hikkim ,Komic and Kibber .

Gharhu Jot Located in Kullu district Himachal Pradesh .

 The Kullu Valley is a beautiful open valley sandwiched between Pir Panjal , Lower Himalayan and Greater Himalayan rangers .

Lepcha Pass , ' A mountain pass which exists in Spiti which connects South Eastern Spiti With Shailkhar and Chango in Hangrang Valley in district Kinnaur , Himachal Pradesh

 Lepcha Pass :- 

The Lepcha Pass is also Known as Hangrang Pass because it connects the Hangrang Valley of Kinnaur district with South Eastern part of Spiti valley in Himachal Pradesh .

The most beautiful and biggest village in Kinnaur district in Hangrang Valley is Chango . This  village has all modern facilities . This village is situated at a distance of  about 67 km North of district headquarters Recong Peo and 37 Km from Pooh tehsil headquarters .

The another village which is connected to South Eastern part of Spiti through Lepcha pass is Shailkhar . The village Shailkhar is located about ,33 km East of  district headquarters,

Takling -La "A high mountain Pass in Zaskar mountain range , connecting Spiti valley with Ladakh ."

 Takling-La ,High Mountain Pass parallel Pass to Prang-La :- 

 In the ancient times the trade between Ladakh and Spiti , Lahaul and Kinnaur was only possible through the trails on mules and the trails were  possible through mountain passes , which were easily accessible .

Prang La Pass," A high mountain pass in Zaskar mountain range in Himachal Pradesh ."

 Prang-La Pass :- 

The Prang-La Pass is a high mountain pass in the Zaskar high mountain range in Himachal Pradesh . 

The Prang-La Pass connects Spiti valley of Himachal Pradesh with some parts of Ladakh

The Prang-La Pass is a high mountain pass situated at an altitude of 5580 metres above mean sea level .

The trek we follow to Prang La Pass is the ancient route which had been used for trade in the ancient times .

The trek to Prang La Pass traverses along the river Parilungbi  from Spiti side .

The trek to this pass starts from Kibber village in Kaza sub division and follows  the ancient trade route between Spiti valley of Himachal Pradesh and Chang Thung plains of Ladakh and Tibet .

Rangcha Pass Connecting Lahaul With Spiti in Himachal Pradesh

Rangcha Pass :- 

Rangcha Pass is a high mountain pass which 

connects Lahaul with Spiti in district Lahaul 

Spiti of Himachal Pradesh .


The Rangcha Pass is situated at an altitude

 of 4400 metres above mean sea level in       

Lahaul in Himachal Pradesh .

We can have access to Rangcha pass via 

Kardang village in Lahaul Valley in Himachal

Pradesh . The village Kardang is about 5 km

from Keylong  , ascending to the base of 

Rangcha pass .

While descending to Keylong we can visit 

historical Thakur's castle at Gondhla .





The biggest monastery Drukpa Kagyu 
 
Kardang  is situated on left bank of river 
 
Bhaga . This monastery was about 900 years 

old. Lama Norbu had  renovated it during  
 
1912 .

The monastery is an attraction to the

 visitors in Lahaul Valley . 





The historical Thakur's castle at Gondhla
 
is a seven stories castle constructed with 
 
timber and stones  in Kath - koni  

architecture . It is constructed during 1700 

AD. The structure is heavily earthquake 

resistant . It is constructed by Raja Man Singh 

of Kullu .

Rangcha Village :- 

Rangcha is a village in tehsil Lahaul and 

 Lahaul Spiti district about 21 km towards south 

of Keylong and it is about  9 Km from Lahaul .

The landscapes of Lahaul Spiti are beauty 

wonders , there are several beautiful places of 

tourist importance .

The Himri Pass , " A mountain pass connecting one side of Kullu Valley with Lug Valley in district Kullu Himachal Pradesh ."

 
 The Himri Pass :- 

The Himri Pass is a mountain pass which exists in Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh India  at an altitude of 3200 metres above mean sea level .


The Himri Pass connects one side of Kullu Valley from Raison side  with beautiful Lug Valley in district Kullu Himachal Pradesh .

The Himachal Pradesh is a wonderland where God has given the blessings of nature like panoramic landscapes , beautiful  lush green forests and meadows , sky touching mountain peaks covering with snow ,   beautiful rivers flowing with neat and clean water , beautiful singing words and beautiful people .

The Lug Valley is connected with Kullu Valley through Himri Pass situated near village Himri in tehsil Nagar .

The natural beauty of Lug Valley has lot of potential to attract tourists but is un explored , Government of Himachal Pradesh has now included  the Lug Valley in its program ," Nai Rahein -Nai Manzilein " to develop the valley with tourist Infrastructure .





There are many beautiful spots of tourist importance  Mathaseur is very Full of nature of Tourism importance .

The streams and springs in the valley is famous for Brown trout fishing . 

How to reach Himri Pass :- 

To reach Himri , first reach Kullu then take a bus to Raison on Kullu Manali  road . Then from Raison take another bus to Ghat Karal . From Ghat Karal there is a walk about 3kms up to Himri  village .

Himri village is a small village in tehsil Nagar from this village reach Himri Pass situated at an altitude of  3200; metres above mean sea level .

Then from Himri Pass walk  down to Lug Valley 



The village Himri is about 16 Km North of Kullu district headquarters and 6km from Nagar .

The trail to Himri Pass is nice and  trekking teams used to visit in Summer and Autumn . You can have the view of Indrasan and Deo Tibba from the trek .
