An Overview of Himachal Pradesh district Kangra Part XIII , Tourist places in district Kangra Continued  :- 


Himachal Pradesh a wonderland , Kangra has many tourist destinations and Panoramic landscapes . We have already explained that Himachal Pradesh has different types of tourism i.e. religious , advanture Tourism , Sports Tourism , Historical Tourism , scenic or Nature Tourism and Health Tourism  .In this series we are having few more such destinations  to visit  :- 

Tashi Jong Monastery  :-

Tashi Jong Monastery is situated in village Tashi Jong in between Paprola and Taragarh  on Mandi Pathankot National Highway .

This Buddisht Monastery is established by 8 Th. Khamtrul Rinpoche  , Dongyu Nyima . It is the centre of traditional activity , Drugpa kagyu Buddhism .  Here you can visit main temple , Stupa of Khamtrul Rinpoche . The Yamantak retreat center is not open for general tourists . The Monastery is very beautiful and peace full .

Another beautiful  landscapes of  lush green tea gardens  in Palampur area is a tourist attractions on the confluence of plains and snow claded mountains .

Palampur is known as tea capital of Northwest India which in combination of pine forests make it a evergreen hill station in the lap of Dhauladhar mountain ranges . The clear snowy water flowing streams and lush green tea gardens and pine forests make the valley a very busy tourist place . Due to the snow covered mountains the climate always remains charming .

The name of the town is taken from the word Palam which means water . So  this water streams and snowy mountains make the Palampur a beautiful tourist place . Lacs of visit Palampur and surrounding areas throughout the year .
