 Punarnava an excellent herb :-



Punarnava is an ayurvedic herb being used from ancient times for the treatment of various diseases .

As the name indicates Punar means again and Nava means new , similarly it gets dry in summer and again gets leaves or propagates in rainy season .

Names of Punarnava :-

It has different names in different languages .

In Sanskrit it called Punarnava .

In Hindi it called Gadapurna or Biskafra , Ghetuli in Marathi and it's Botanical name is Boerhavia diffusa.

Uses and Benefits :-

The punarnava is used for various ailments in different types .

It's juice can be used. It's leaves and roots are used as a paste or in tablet from .

It has numerous benefits as under :-

  1. The juice of Punarnava leaves mixed with honey can be applied in eyes to manage Opathalmia and cataract .
  2. Fresh juice of Punarnava roots can be used to releive night blindness .
  3. Other disorder of eyes , watering eyes and itching eyes .
  4. Punarnava roots and leaves can be used in joint pain and gout problems .
  5. Punarvastaka and Punarnavadi kvatha churna are beneficial in breathlessness , cough and asthma .
  6. Punarnava vati is given for kidney patients with Brikdoshar vati and pipal and Neem leaves juice .
  7. Neuromuscular disorder like sciatica pain , calves , thighs and back etc . are treated with Punarnava Guggulu .
  8. So this herb is used to prepare medicines in pharmaceutical companies .
  9. The use of this herb must be done as per advice of ayurvedic healthcare experts .

  2. Lie down at some proper place with face arms and palms towards sky ,

  5. Suneya sikhar ko khojo re santo , feel this stage means the state of our mind cut from outer world activities and have zero thoughts.
  6. Keep arms and feet apart and close your eyes ..

Chandrayaan 3 on 5th August 2023

 On Saturday 5th August 2023 as per ISRO Scientists the Chandrayaan 3 has been successfully inserted into Lunar Orbit and the next operation that is reduction of Orbit will be conducted on Sunday 6 August 2023 at 11PM .

A retro -burning at the perilune which is the spacecraft ‘s closest point to Moon was commanded from the MOX , the mission operation complex , ISRO Telemetry , Tracking and Command Network Bangaluru .

Now Chandrayaan 3 is feeling Lunar gravity .

Chandrayaan 3 is successfully aheading towards its goal it is the success journey of great scientists . Finally Chandrayaan 3 will make soft landing on the south pole of Moon on 23 - 24 th. August 2023 , when India will become the first country to land Chandrayaan 3 on South pole of Moon .

Potato is grown in Lahaul valley as off season crop and is famous for its quality .

In  Lahaul Spiti the crop season is only for six months . the main cash crops are Pea , Cowliflower and Brokali . 


The market to these cash crops is lower Himachal and Punjab .





The Apple in the cold desert of Lahaul Spiti is now making its ranking in the market slowly . The quality of apple from this cold desert is contributing towards economy of the district . Vegetable ie peas , Potato and Cowliflower also contributing towards economy of the district .

The Lahaul Spiti was previously two separate districts  Lahaul with district headquarters at Kardang and Spiti with district headquarters at Dhankar  . During 1960 Lahaul Spiti was made district with headphones at Keylong . 





The western boundary of Lahaul Spiti is with Chamba district and in North it shares it's boundaries with zanskar and Ladhakh and China , the Tibet platue . Lahaul Spiti also shared boudries with Kinnaur , Kullu and Kangra districts .

The district has very beautiful landscapes and tourists around the world used to visit these panoramic landscapes .


The area of the Lahaul Spiti is 13833 square kilometres and the valley floor is 4270 metres above mean sea level . The administrative headquarter of district are Keylong  and Kaza is also administrative headquarter of Spiti valley .





Economy of district Lahaul Spiti :- 


The economy of the district mainly includes the income from agriculture and tourism . The per capita income of the district is Rs. 1,92,292/-.

The area under agriculture is about 3544 hectares and the forest cover is 158.85 square kilometres .

The scenic beauty of village  is natural and attractions for tourists . The village is situated at about 71 Km from Recong Peo. 

The green fields , vineyards , apricot , almond and grapes orchards are in abundance in the area .

Sumdo :- 

It is the gate way to Spiti Valley and is about 104 km from Kalpa  . 

The Kinnaur is connected with Hindustan Tiebet road to Shimla and Spiti . Bus service and taxi service is available to visit this area .  The nearest railway station is Shimla and Jubbarhatti Air Port in Shimla   is nearest airport .

Ribba Village is situated at a distance of about 19 Km from Moorang . Rispa ,Skibba are near by villages . Rispa is famous for its grapes .. The Ribba Village is situated at an altitude of about 3745 metres above mean sea level .


The village is famous for grapes wine which is called Angoori . The apple Orchards also adds immense beauty to the village .

Chilgoza also called pine nut is in abundance in Ribba area  . It's name may be kept due to pine nut forests on the mountain . Pine nut is called Ri and rang means mountain , so in local dialect Ribba is called Rirangb. 




It is a charming place for tourists because of natural beauty of the area . Tourists always prefer to visit Ribba .
