The Padri Pass ,A panoramic landscape between the boundary of Jammu & Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh on Chamba district boundary .

 The Padri Pass lies between the boundary of Himachal Pradesh , Chamba district boundary and Jammu & Kashmir about 95 Km from Chamba and about 41 Km from Bhaderwah on inter-state Bhaderwah - Chamba National Highway .

It is also called Padri Top and has very long about 99.7 km beautiful meadows landscapes . These meadows are used for advanture supports like Snow-Skiing in winter weather and for Paragliding in Summer season .



Padri Top is a pleasant , panoramic picnic spot at an  elevation of about 3037 metres above mean sea level .

The Basodan Pass , the Mountain Pass in Chamba region , Himachal Pradesh .

 In addition to already discussed there are more passes or Jots in Himachal Pradesh Which are used by the people . We will start it from Chamba region . In Chamba region there is a pass between Chamba and Bhattiyat called Basodan pass .

The Basodan Pass is situated between Chamba and Bhattiyat at an altitude of about 2650 metres above mean sea level . Bhattiyat is tehsil of Chamba district .

The Darati Pass , the Mountain Pass in Chamba region of Himachal Pradesh

 The Darati Pass is situated at an altitude of 4720 metres above mean sea level in Chamba region in Pir-Panjal range of Himalayas . The Trek is approached from Chamba one has to reach the base of Lahesh/ Alyas then the steep Trek starts till the top of the pass . The last spell is very steep and is mostly covered with snow .

It takes  two days from Alyas/ Lahesh to Tandi in Lahaul valley . From Chamba side the base is Dantuin and from Lahaul side the base is Tandi .

Tandi is situated at an elevation of about 2650 metres above mean sea level . From Tandi further come down to Udaypur which is famous for Triloknath temple .

The best trekking time is late July to September .There are trekking troups guide with all necessary arrangements  who arrange the trekking tours.

The Tempola Pass ,in district Lahaul-Spiti of Himachal Pradesh .

 The Tempola Pass lies in Lahaul-Spiti district of Himachal Pradesh at an elevation of about 4930 metres above mean sea level . The approach to the base of this pass traverses along the Yoche Nullah and while descending the route lies through village Khoksar at an altitude of about 3140 metres from mean sea level .

From Khoksar we can return to Leylong or Spiti via Kunzum Pass or may go to Manali .

Manirang Pass connecting Ropa Valley in Kinnaur with Spiti valley in Himachal Pradesh

 The Manirang Pass In Great Himalyan Region 

The Manirang Pass is a high mountain pass lies in the Great Himalayan region which connects the Ropa valley of district Kinnaur with Spiti Valley of district Lahaul-Spiti in Himachal Pradesh.

The Manirang Pass is situated at an altitude of about 5550 metres above mean sea level where as the height of Manirang mountain is 6593 metres above mean sea level .

 

When we commence this high mountain pass from Ropa valley side we have to travel about a distance of five Km on a snowy bed  and about three Km on snowy bed on Spiti Valley side .

The Ropa Valley is named on the name of village Rapa ,this valley is very beautiful having apple orchards , which add to the economy of the local people .

The valley is also famous for woolen handicrafts ,like shasls and Kinnauri caps .The Rop valley falls in Pooh tehsil  about 16 kms from Pooh and 37 Km from Recong Peo 

The Manirang pass is accessible from Mane village in Spiti . The pass was of great importance in ancient times when there was no road connectivity in this area. The trade was possible through this pass only . 

The village Mane is located in Spiti valley at a distance of about 35 kms and 25 Kms from Tabo .



The approach to this Pass is some what gradual and is through village Mane. While descending towards Ropa valley side is very steep through a very narrow George.

The tracks leading to this Pass are not in good condition and are dangerous at certain reaches .Now the Spiti valley and Kinnaur is well connected with NH 505 .

The Manirang pass trek traverses through Mane village then Mor Nala camping site , Manirang pass then Samdo Nala ,Phophian Thatang then Ropa Valley .

The Sobha Singh Art Gallery

 Our first question is about ,who is Sobha Singh ? The answer is S.Sobha Singh was a famous artist and Painter from Sikh community . He was born on 29 November 1901 at Srihargovindpur (Gurdaspur ) in Punjab .

The Sobha Singh Art Gallery is situated on Jai Singhpur Palampur road about 14 Km from Palampur at village Andretta, district Kangra Himachal Pradesh .

S.Sobha Singh left this world for heavenly journey on 22 August 1986 at the age of eighty four years .

S.Sobha Singh devoted his life to the painting world and created many beautiful paintings on canvas having values .

Sardar Sobha Singh started is career as Draftsman in British Indian Army in 1919.

After 1947 this great wizard of colours and canvas spent 39 years of his life at Andretta near Palampur district Kangna and created numbers of beautiful paintings of Sikh Gurus  ,Guru Nank Dev ji ,Guru Govind Singh ji  and other gurus .Shohani -Mahiwal ,Heer-Ranjha are popular paintings of S.Sobha Singh . This great artist was awarded many times by the government .

Shinghor Pass , Approached from Alyas beyond Dharamsha Himachal Pradesh .

 The Shinghor pass lies in Dhauladhar range approached beyond Dharamsha and is existing at an elevation of about 4310 metres above mean sea level . The route is very tough and steep and having no water . The trekkers always avoid this route because of the abrupt changes in the weather . According to the local inhabitants the weather conditions on this pass are very much unpredictable as the clouds appear suddenly and the winds blow with heavy velocity and thunders  , the temperature suddenly falls . Due to such weather conditions the situation some time becomes fatal . Trekkers always avoid this route bing killer environment .


            Dhauladhar range from Dharamsha

This pass lies in the Dhauladhar range and is commonly used by local gaddid with their flocks of goats and sheep during summer and autumn when they take them for grazing up to Manimahesh and Lahaul -Spiti . These people cross this pass with their livestock twice a year when they go and come back to their homes .

This pass is only crossable by men and goats and mules can not cross this pass .

Bhaba Pass , " The high mountain pass in district Kinnaur in Himachal Pradesh ."

 Bhaba Pass connecting Bhaba valley in Kinnaur with Pin valley in Spiti valley :- 

The Bhaba pass is a high mountain pass connects the green Bhaba valley of Kinnaur district with Pin valley of Spiti valley in district Lahaul- Spiti 



The Bhaba pass is situated at an altitude of about 4890 metres above mean sea level . It is the gateway of Bhaba valley to Spiti valley . This track is about 51Km . Mostly this pass is used by shepherds .

Cheni Pass , " The Pass in district Chamba ,which connects Churah valley with Mindhal and Kulal villages of Pangi Valley ."

 The Cheni Pass :-

The Cheni Pass falls in Chamba region of Himachal Pradesh , which connects Churah valley of Chamba district with Mindhal and Kulal villages of Pangi Valley .

The village Mindhal is famous for Mata Kali temple ,a fair is held every year in the month of August at this place . The Cheni Pass is located to Southeast of Each Pass .

The Cheni Pass is situated at an elevation of about 4400 metres from mean sea level .
The road connectivity is from the foothills of this pass from Devikothi , Chamba , Mindhal and Pangi Valley side . The Killar is the headquarters of Pangi Valley . HRTC buses used to ply in these routes .
