The Manirang Pass In Great Himalyan Region
The Manirang Pass is a high mountain pass lies in the Great Himalayan region which connects the Ropa valley of district Kinnaur with Spiti Valley of district Lahaul-Spiti in Himachal Pradesh.

The Manirang Pass is situated at an altitude of about 5550 metres above mean sea level where as the height of Manirang mountain is 6593 metres above mean sea level .
When we commence this high mountain pass from Ropa valley side we have to travel about a distance of five Km on a snowy bed and about three Km on snowy bed on Spiti Valley side .

The Ropa Valley is named on the name of village Rapa ,this valley is very beautiful having apple orchards , which add to the economy of the local people .

The valley is also famous for woolen handicrafts ,like shasls and Kinnauri caps .The Rop valley falls in Pooh tehsil about 16 kms from Pooh and 37 Km from Recong Peo
The Manirang pass is accessible from Mane village in Spiti . The pass was of great importance in ancient times when there was no road connectivity in this area. The trade was possible through this pass only .
The village Mane is located in Spiti valley at a distance of about 35 kms and 25 Kms from Tabo .
The approach to this Pass is some what gradual and is through village Mane. While descending towards Ropa valley side is very steep through a very narrow George.
Snowy trek to Manirang pass
The tracks leading to this Pass are not in good condition and are dangerous at certain reaches .Now the Spiti valley and Kinnaur is well connected with NH 505 .
The Manirang pass trek traverses through Mane village then Mor Nala camping site , Manirang pass then Samdo Nala ,Phophian Thatang then Ropa Valley .
