Jalori Jot, "A mountain pass on Anni -Banjar -Thalout -Kullu Road in district Kullu Himachal Pradesh."

Jalori Jot a mountain Pass  :-

When we think about enjoying beautiful landscapes in  Himachal Pradesh, the whole of the state is full of beautiful places to see. The travel and trade in ancient times was not so easy. It was only through narrow passages at certain depressions where the people could cross over the mountains .Such location id called pass or Jot.

View at Jalori Jot district Kullu

In the ancient times the mountains were barriers against  travel and trade because it was very very difficult to cross over these barriers as the mountains remained covered with snow most of the time in a year. Then on the ridges of the mountains,  there the existing depression and narrow passages which have some easy access to cross over the hill due to less quantum of snow were used for the purpose of travel and trade. These narrow passages  are called mountain pass or Jot .

Jalori  Jot is is a mountain pass in district Kullu.  it is located at a distance of about 31 Km from Anni and about 44 Km from Thlaout . The road traverses from NH 22 at Sainj, then Luhri Anni Jalori pass  Banjar then meets NH 21 at Thalout.

Sun set View from Jalori pass

The  Jalori Jot is  located  on NH 305 at an elevation of 3135 metres from mean sea level. The snow fall during winter block the traffic but Himachal Pradesh Public Works Department always regulates the traffic.

Holy Gurudawara, Guru ka Lahore near Bassi village in district Bilaspur Himachal Pradesh.

The brief history how Guru ka Lahore was Named :-

The son of Guru Teg Bahadur Govind Rai grown young and his betrothal was done with Jitto ji daughter of Bhai Hari Jas a resident of Lahore in the lifetime of Guru Teg Bahadur.
The marriage of young Govind Rai could not took place because of the elder Guru 's martyrdome  in November 1675 and the marriage was postponed.

Later in 1677 Bhai Hari Jas came to Chaak Nanki and propsed that Guru Govind Rai must come to Lahore with Baraat and  marry his daughter. On this all elders of the family and relatives suggested that people at Lahore were against Guru ghar and in such circumstances the proposal is not feasible. Then Guru him self proposed that let's create Lahore here and Jitto ji and her family and relatives will come to here and the marriage ceremony be completed from this this created Lahore. Bhai Hari Jas agreed and a temporary camp  like Lahore was set up at this place, bride and her family with relatives came to this newly created Lahore and Baraat of Guru Govind Rai came to this place and marriage ceremony was performed at this place. From then this place is named as Guru Ka Lahore. Later on during 1960 -62 Gurudawara was constructed at this place and every year Nagar-kirtan is performed to celebrate the event of Guru Govind Singh 's marriage from Anandpur Sahib to Guru ka Lahore.
